The using of TimeScape to attend to a clock/watch/barometer/mechanical antique repair is subject to your acceptance of and compliance with our following terms and Conditions.
- Any person who brings an item for repair to TimeScape is deemed to be the legal owner, or authorised agent of the legal owner of the clock, and releases TimeScape, from all and any liability for said clock as agreed by the terms herin.
- Advance payment is not required on any repair, payment is always due upon collection of the item or upon delivery of the item to the client’s address. In some instances ( where the cost of the repair is substantial ) payment will be required prior to any delivery taking place.
- I will always quote for any work on any item and the quote is the final amount payable. The only caveat being, on rare occasions, when something other than that covered by said quote is discovered that requires attention then TimeScape will contact the owner/owners agent to discuss & get approval before any work is carried out
- Our estimated time for completion of a clock repair is 5 months and is quoted upon receipt of the item into our workshops. TimeScape will not be held responsible for any unforeseen delays whether personally or delays whilst awaiting the services of subcontracted experts in specialist fields.
- All Items whilst in our possession are fully insured for theft, loss and damage
- Sometimes I use before and after pictures of the restoration of an item and these may appear on our website for the purpose of showing services available to other prospective clients.
- Guarantee terms
- We offer a full 12 month guarantee on all full services and overhauls. Part repairs and minor works are excluded from said guarantee however a 'pro rata guarantee may be given in certain circumstances and this at the discretion of TimeScape. Said guarantee can be extended to 24 months if ower/ owners agent has an interim inspection and lubrication service at 12 months from the date of invoice or delivery.
- Warranty starts from date of delivery back to the owner/owners agents care and covers parts and labour with the exceptions as stated and listed below.
- Warranty is not transferable to a third party and is only applicable to the original transaction undertaken.
The following items are excluded from the guarantee given:
- The cost of repair or replacement to mainsprings, broken wheels and/or teeth caused by mainspring breakage after service/repair
- Repair or replacement of weight driven clock cables, gut or chains.
- Repair or replacement of any broken hands.
- Replacement of broken glass of any sort.
- Accidental damage or damage caused by misuse of the clock, unreasonable and excessive winding force.
- Any failure due to metal fatigue of old parts and any damage caused thereby
- Evidence or tampering with work undertaken by TimeScape by any third party either wholly or partly in the trade unless we have designated that person to so do.
- Following initial delivery and setting up the clock correctly any issue following said setting up, unless deemed a failure of service by TimeScape, is not covered.
- Where the setting up service has not been taken up by the client then any call out resulting from setting up issues will incur a standard call out charge.
- Any further setup callouts after 1 week of an item working correctly will incur a standard charge
- Finally please understand that final regulation of the clock to ascertain accurate timekeeping properties are the responsibility of the owner, this is because of temperature variables and is outside of the control of TimeScape. All clocks are regulated in the workshop however they will almost certainly need slight adjustment following initial setup after a few days. With patience it is certainley possible to get a longcase to withing a minute a week and other clocks likewise. The order of the day is a little and often with regards to final regulation.
